London City & Guilds art school - accommodation advice?

Hi my daughter is going to a foundation course at London City & Guilds art school in September 2024. They don't offer accommodation and it's hard to judge which providers of student accommodation are legit when searching online. Has anyone had a good experience with student residences in or near Central London?

C&G accomodation This is from their website. Is it helpful? I’ve had a quick Look under Student Accommodation Providers and they look legitimate, they start with Claredale in Bethnal Green which I know about and I recognise many of the names.

A friend's daughter who went there for Foundation and really enjoyed it! The fees put me off it for my DD though. She had a flat with Urbanest Tower Bridge which looked great.

@marvellousjosie Use the C&G web site. All are legit. Money talks in London and I would look at halls where she can commute easily to Kennington. So Northern Line or buses. There are a few options in Vauxhall. If you want all mod cons it’s very expensive. Check out the areas too. Some are just devoid of life with new flats everywhere!

@marvellousjosie Hello, I will also be joining the foundation course at City and Guilds for September! I’m also really struggling to find any accommodations, did you end up finding one? Thank you :)

@DB have you looked at private student accommodation? Some in Elephant and Castle I think.

@TizerorFizz Hello, thank you! I've tried looking but I can't find anything relatively close to the school, most accommodations are sold out. I've managed to find one but it's going to take me roughly an hour to commute everyday :(

University Living has Urbanest at Westminster Bridge. That south of the Thames and on a bus route to Kennington. I’m really not sure where you are looking! Is it a money issue @DB727 ?

@DB727 These are much closer and available.

Hello! I'm the same girl from the previous post asking about accommodation! I have since then found an accommodation in Bermondsey, it's a good location and relatively close! I was wondering if you and daughter have found anything, Thank you!! :) xxx

There are a cluster of private student halls on the north west side of Vauxhall Park which some of which still have availability. They are likely to be quite artsy due to proximity to UAL on public transport (which is excellent) but she'd be able to walk to C&G. I'd be looking to find somewhere in a search area from Battersea in the west (urban nest have vacancies there I think) to Elephant & Castle in the East - as both should be easy tube or bus rides to Kennington - especially now the northern line runs to Battersea.

If she gets really stuck PM me and I'll see what other help I can give if she needs to find something temporary in that area.
