Loughborough University GAP year

DD16 is hoping to go to Loughborough U to do engineering. She is also considering taken a GAP year to learn to drive, travel, take a language course overseas, work.

Can she apply and ask to deferred one year?

Yes, you can apply for deferred entry. My oldest DD did that (for similar reasons!)

Thank you; that’s great to hear; just thought some universities may not allow it in particular for stem subjects

You need to ask the university directly. For STEM subjects many universities don't allow it, and DS1 found some art courses didn't. I just emailed the admin departments a two sentence email to get clarity.
