Medicine - Newcastle vs Manchester

My dd is debating between medicine at Newcastle or Manchester and she is not able to attend the offer days. Both of them seem fantastic so any advice on your experience at either university would be appreciated.

Both are ranked very similarly although that doesn't really matter that much with regard to medicine as far as future prospects are concerned.
Newcastle is a fantastic place to study and live, the student accommodation is generally close to the University and the city centre and relatively cheap.
Manchester can seem a little too big and you can become isolated although it's a great Uni.
One of mine went to Newcastle and one to Manchester and to be honest there's not much to choose between (I preferred Newcastle for visits but that's selfish I know,) she's doing a PhD there now and I love the city as much as she does.
Why not have a trip to each and see which your dd prefers.
I'm sure neither Uni would mind you having a little walk around and maybe asking a few questions, they are keen to attract students.
Good luck.
