Thoughts welcome please - I can’t decide which to firm….

Do you like beaches, beautiful countryside, sunshine and a lot of rain? If so, Swansea is for you.

Assuming the BA Modern Languages at each, unless Ive missed something, Swansea would appear to offer a wider range? Basic French / German / Spanish (vs French / Italian / Spanish at Leicester), but then with the possibility of adding in Catalan, Italian or Portuguese.

I really liked Leicester when I visited the university with DS1 (admittedly a few years ago now, and not looking for MFL), but I would be tempted by Swansea out of the two.

Both are very good universities but Swansea's environment will be the winner for me.

@Squashyduvet Are there other offers? Look at modules. What’s the career goal? Neither are that great for MFL.

Don't worry about anyone who can't see beyond careers in law or corporate finance in London or RG universities. Swansea is full of nice people, it's in a lovely part of the world and everyone I know who went there enjoyed themselves.

As a disclaimer though, I've never been to Leicester.

Swansea is a really lovely place. The campus is opposite the city beach which isn't as nice as nearby ones on Gower but it's lovely to walk along the shore and smell the sea air. It does rain a lot but so what? We're not exactly in a dry part of the world regardless

I went to Swansea albeit nearly 30 years ago and the environment is amazing there. I go back at least once a year,.it is so good for mental wellbeing. I'm back in a few weeks for a girls weekend. I did a modern languages degree and had a whale of a time but the timescale makes that part irrelevant ! But the landscape is the most best kept secrets in the UK.

I'm not far from Leicester and imagine the environment would be very different.
