Music qualifications: anyone know what an RSL extended diploma is

For a non MN friend. Anyone know what an RSL extended diploma is and which unis accept it as an Alevel alternative.

But I'd have thought the institution offering the diploma are probably best placed to give information on what previous year's students have gone on to do.

It's a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma which is broadly equivalent to 3 A Levels.

There are lots of different ones. For things like Music Performance and Production, the harder-to-get-into colleges seem to be doing UAL rather than RSL at the moment.

As to whether you can use it for uni entry, it's really quite dependent on which BTEC they are taking and which course and university they are aiming for.

It's an alternative exam board to the Btec (UAL is another alternative exam board).

When I was looking for my son the only university degree courses that would not accept it were Oxbridge, Birmingham & Manchester but there might be more.
