Anyone’s DC heard back from Durham for English yet?

Just this really, as we heard Maths offers have an offer holders day and DC hasn’t had any response or offer from them yet for English

No, still waiting here. Heard of 2 offers so they’ve obviously made some.

DD still waiting for English too. I know of two posters on here who’s DC have English offers and there is a smattering on TSR but other then that all quiet.

DC has more or less decided on KCL and has 2 other offers. Just seems odd how long it’s taking

My DS2 is probably one of the referenced two. Came in late Jan

And as for UCL who supposedly interview between nov and March - I haven't heard of anyone getting an interview yet, although one Mn child got an offer without interview a while ago

Dd had ucl interview a few weeks ago but not heard anything since. A few on tsr have also had them but not heard of anyone actually hearing post interview.

Oh well done her @FebuarySmith. UCL english don't seem to fancy ds2 at all :-)

@New2024 yup - our english boys are going to have to get used to being outnumbered 4 to 1 wherever they go :-)

Wow @Revengeofthepangolins that’s a pretty high ratio! Does it bother your DS at all? There are actually quite a high proportion of boys in DD’s English a level cohort at college but the teachers have said that its unusual.

Rollergirl11 no worries, boys doing English a bit rare. Mine is into journalism and cinema. It’s probably why he will end up at KCL because nearer to BFI. He’s been on their YAC Into Film programme and moving on to the older version.

Oh I should add there are quite a few boys in the A Level Eng Lit at DSs Sixth Form but it’s huge cohort nearly 2800 students in the sixth form college as a whole over 2 years. Good prep for uni but a mega shock after a lovely smallish secondary.

However, as a family tripley bereaved since 2018 and doubly bereaved during sixth form (uncle, grand parents) for a big educational institution they were very good on pastoral care.

Ds also has lots of boys in his english class. The uni stats are so skewed - every where he looked as about 75-80% girls. He seems fine with, happily

He was at a humanities offer holders' day today and it has to be said that it was pretty girl dominated, so I don't think it is only English, although it is at the extreme end.

To clarify, I mean it was fairly dominated, not that I was commenting on the pulcritudinousness of the female offer holders 😀
