On the website it still looks like it's only 2008 entry. I want to study Dentistry, and applications close earlier than most other subjects. The help topic isn't currently working. Thank you in advance, off to put ds down to nap.

15 October I've just found out, but that's only 6 months away. I was under the impression you could start off the online application, and keep coming back to it.

Well I've been and done it! I've registered, but still think it's for 08 entry. I'm still trying to get work experience. I'm very disorganised too, but if I don't get the ball rolling then I might never.

You can't register for 2009 entry untill the end ofJune.
UCAS are doing things differently this year. They are doing things in two stages. DD2 could only apply for 5 universites in the first stage. This application had to be in by 15th January 2008. The secondstage is betwen the end of Febuary and June this year. Any applicant who was turned down by any of the universities in the first stage now have an oppatunity to choose one more university to choose one more University/course.
All universitieshtah still have places on courses are puting them up on the UCAS site.
So all the courses you have seen are for 2008 not 2009.
I know this because Dd2 has aplied for university this year.

Schools generally do a lot of practice at filling in the form (think they may have practice programs) - DS's school did this post AS exams so that for Oxbridge/Medics the forms would be ready well in time for October 15th. Keep working at your application and ensure you get it in finally well before the last date.

Thanks folks. Well I left school a long time ago and it was a paper form then. I can't remember when the forms had to be because it was all done by my school. So far so good. It's not the rocket science it seemed to be back then.

If you apply for a deferred entry, then you can apply now for a place in 2009, and it puts you ahead of the game as the universities will get your application, can interview and offer a place now, but you won't be starting till September 2009.
I am a University lecturer and have already received a deferred application for 2009.
Just look for the right place to enter this on your UCAS application.
