Are any of you concerned about your DCs applying to Bristol Uni, considering the massive student housing crisis?

DD is very central to Clifton and her lectures are less than ten minutes walk. Her flat is tiny though.
In comparison, friends are much further out and need to use the bus, but their rent is cheaper and their houses are bigger. It's a Kirstie and Phil situation of location vs size and price.

The third option is a larger house for 4-6.

@marmaladeandpeanutbutter These are still going to cost more in Clifton unless they are in poor condition. Clifton is a lovely area and close to the uni, so prices reflect this. My DD in second year had a 6 person flat in Clifton. The landlord had 4 houses all together in a large terrace in a crescent not far from the SU. A caretaker for the flats had one of them. It worked well as they had communal gardens and bike storage. Lots of the very big houses are flats and 3-6 is usually a decent group for a flat.

Friends usually come from halls (DDs did) or course. Most students find people they gel with.
