Hi, DD17 looking at LJMU or Leeds Trinity for the above degree course next year- has anybody had experience of both? Any recommendations for halls of residence for first year - Agnes Jones house looks quite nice and affordable in Liverpool? We live in Leeds so she would stay at home for Trinity, but I think she wants to move away ideally? Thanks for any advice!

LJMU alumna here, it’s a great uni. Student support is excellent and the careers side of things is also great. Everyone I know from uni is doing very well and can’t help but think the way careers support is integral is part of that. Agnes jones is a great optional although one of the smaller accom and slightly older at this point.
Avoid the ones near London road, capital and Albert, it’s not the nicest bit of the city to walk back to after a night out. Grand central is a good option too. Be less than a ten minute walk to her building

Thanks so much for the info! Glad it's going well! I guess visiting a few times and driving round the area is the best way of getting to know the 'safer' areas would be

I did that degree at LJMU. The crims are extremely harsh markers.

It's not mainstream criminology. It's critical criminology. But I loved it. The psychology part is what you do your dissertation on so it's a BSc not a BA.
