Long shot but anyone with a DC doing a Landscape Architecture degree?

More specifically, at either Uni of Sheffield or Leeds Beckett?

Have a DC who has firmed Sheffield but has had a complete wobble today after the first AQA Biology paper over making the grades they need. Trying to find some info on how strict they are given they ask for a portfolio too.

We're going to email admissions and ask a few questions as they missed the offer holders day but thought I'd ask the oracle of MN first!

@nipersvest One of our best friends has a Landscape Architecture practice. She really rates Sheffield grads. Try and stick with Sheffield. Cannot answer the other questions and not sure Sheffield can either as they don’t have a crystal ball re results and whether they allow dropped grades. Presumably each year is different. Try and stay positive. I do have to say that if every parent emailed admissions after Dc has a wobble, it would take until Christmas to answer the emails. What will be will be!

My DD did landscape architecture at Sheffield, graduating in 2019. Very happy to tell you her story of what happened when she missed her offer, if you DM me… it had a happy ending though! It is the best landscape arch dept in Europe, I can’t speak highly enough about it.

Oh wow, that would be really helpful, I'll send you a DM x

Thanks TF, know what you mean re emailing, that would be a last resort thing, we also have a DC in 3rd year elsewhere so am aware staff are marking, that is, unless they're striking, which DD's staff are! That's another story but she faces graduation with no degree!

@nipersvest I am so sorry for so many of our students. It seems grossly unfair. It’s so difficult to know whether a course will drop grades or not.
