Just that really. I enjoyed Leeds but if I had my time again I’d go to Swansea - friends there had such a great time on the beach!

UCL. No regrets. It was my dream to study in London. Yes it’s definitely tougher in some ways than some campus universities in terms of logistics and socially. But I made some great friends and had so many fun times out in central London.. And got to wander down to TopShop Oxford Circus after lectures each week ;-)

I would have tried for Oxford. I could have, and I didn’t. I’m always going to wonder why my 16 year old brain made that decision.

Same although I know why the teacher in the subject I was applying for told me a lot of hard work would be required to get me there - put me off. I wish I'd just gone for it and put some effort in.

One of my DC is at Aberystwyth and loves it. He could have gone to a 'better' university with his grades, but had his heart set on the International Politics department there and is very happy.

Another Aberystwyth Alumni here, loved it best years of my life and met my DH at the end of my course. Really pleased I didn't get the grades for my first choice.

Edinburgh

Then I would have bought a flat there after graduating and made more money from price increases.

Also wouldnt have had awful things happen to me.

I really liked Leeds, but do think I wasn't really suited to the course. I had a bit of a thing about it having to be a Uni and tbh I would have been suited to a more vocational course. But then when I started I was thinking I'd do a PhD so....

@StopDoingLaundry I also loved my uni time in London! It was definitely the best place in the UK for me to go to uni! I used to go to museums in the middle of the day and had a very active social life. I just loved all the opportunities I got to experience by living in London during uni

I always wonder why people comment on 'Aberystwyth because no-one goes home at the weekend' on these threads. Not because Aberystwyth doesn't sound lovely, but my experience at a city university where all of my friends were from much nearer towns and cities than me, was still that nobody went home at the weekend. We maybe went once or twice a term, except the girl who was visiting her boyfriend and definitely missed out. Was I really lucky or is that unusual nowadays?

I went to Uni of Bath in the early '90s and loved it. Wouldn't change it at all.
DD2 is currently at Swansea and is very happy there. There's something special about being right at the beach and we love visiting her when it's term time.

Oxford. It's stunning. I'd have like to go to one of the colleges right in the centre. One with a quad and one that provided accommodation for the whole time.

I love the history of Oxford University and I love the city.

It would never have been possible though as I'm not clever enough.
