where would people recommend. Leicester is the aspirational one (say ABB but clearing suggest they take lower). What about Aber, Swansea, Surrey, Ox Brooke’s, Sheffield Hallam?

@BigVaseofTulips I think I mentioned Portsmouth on page 2. Be careful about narrowing MFL down too much. The great thing about a MFL degree is breadth. The best universities offer lots of options. They have staff who do research and are experts. MFL degrees should not just be a narrow use of language. Therefore being able to read texts, write essays, explore culture and arts is important and gives a much broader skill set. Anyone who can do a good MFL degree can apply their skills to business. Or indeed anything! That’s because they have studied a challenging curriculum which requires a deeper understanding of the MFL and in fact gives more skills.

@TizerorFizz yes you did mention Portsmouth upthread but what I hadn't appreciated is that a degree there is applied languages (although they offer a modern languages degree as well) and perhaps that might suit DD better? Thank you very much for all your advice. DD is booking up for open days! So far we're down for Lancaster and Reading but more need booking in....

What about Sheffield? They can study 3 languages there. It's a RG university.
