How are you finding it a childminder?
How long have you been childminding and how amny children are you chilminding at the moment?

I was advised to do level 3 as a childminder - as you don't have a supervisor so the level 2 was inappropriate

I think the level 3 was hard with a family & a full-time job

Really?
I just havent done any home work at all (no time).
My tutor isnt very supportive.I havent had any obs done yet.I dont do Obs myself (should I be?)She has obs everyone else and hasnt even mentioned it to me.I look after a 9month old and thought it would be quite difficult for her to ob me. I suggested she ob me at a local playschool where Iv done some experience but havent for a while as have had some temp childminding.Im not ready to be ob yet as I dont know the playschool well enough so am glad she hasnt approached me.
Im totally lost with it all.I wouldnt know where to start with what to ask you about as its all a mess!!

Observing a 9mo is easy

Sit her in front of blocks - what does she do? Does she eat them? stack them? drop the one she is holding when you show her a new one?

How about with a spoon at meal times - can she pick up a piece of pasts? does she chew it? or mash it on the table?

Just watch her & write half a side (like I did - in rough - no punctuation) & show your tutor

Do 2 or 3 - easy stuff

What about nappy changing what do you do - what does she do (put stuff about gloves/anti-bac/wipes/nappy bag & it will count for more than just her reactions

I just dont have alot of knowledge and experience so didnt even think of any of this.
The 9month old isnt able to sit, wont eat finger food but sounds great.Could try things like all you have said.Thank you.I wish I knew you and you lived next door!!

Lie her on the floor (tummy) and roll a ball at her

Nappy time is still OK

What about when you are feeding her - include making up the bottle - Hygiene/hand washing/sterilised bottle - how & why you do things

Email them to me if you want katymacb

I don't mind .co.uk

BTW its hotmail

I mix my address up so it can't be picked up & I get tonnes of spam
