Which unis are first come first served for accommodation?

My friend’s DC firmed Nottingham last year before they got all of their offers - purely because Notts open accommodation around Easter time and it is first come, first served (my friend said).

i don’t want my DD to be in this position when she applies next year. Are there any unis (other than Nottingham) to avoid because they do this? Is it best to apply to unis that only open accommodation after May (when all UCAS decisions are in)?

All advice and insight valued as we are new to this!

Anyone know what Manchester uni do?

Adding to the list, Anglia Ruskin is FCFS.

Liverpool John Moores is FCFS and opens feb - pretty shitty I think as of course it tempts people to firm before all offers are in.

Goldsmiths doesn't open til June.

Queen Mary is open now and is FCFS.

Its unfair- especially where affordable accommodation is difficult to source

I mean you need to go by uni and course. But when offers are coming in late. I really don't fancy the scramble of getting somewhere we can afford in London
