2023 uni applications - anyone else going through this?

DS has put in his applications (before Christmas). Now just waiting…

Does anyone know how long before he (hopefully) gets any offers?

Not sure @KittensNotMittens but we're waiting too. I think DS is trying to drive me over the edge personally by putting his application in just before the Christmas break.

It varies hugely depending on uni and course. Some will offer early, others will wait until after the jan 25th deadline, and others will wait until really late. You could look at TSR website and WIWIKAU Facebook page.

Where has he applied to and which subject?

Depends. Dd2 got two a week later but had to wait for a rejection from St As until May 🙄

DS has his first offer so that's a huge relief. He's just booked onto the offer holders day for February.

DD put hers in just before Christmas and had two offers last week.

I think it’s dependent on unis that are applied to.

Dd applied just before Christmas and had 5 offers within a week including a couple of good contextual offers and a points tariff offer for her first choice.

We did the first choice open day and she’s more than happy with that, her possible insurance was a last minute change of plan so we’re doing the offer day in February.

DS got one today (put his applications in right before Christmas) from Surrey.

Im amazed they make offers without interviewing the kids. One down, four to go…

I'm just finishing off my ucas form for mature study.

So nervous to actually send it.

DS got offers from all 4 Unis within a week! They’re mid range Unis, minimum of 104 UCAS points. I was concerned that there would be more students than places but I guess every student is worth 9 grand per annum so they probably want as many as they can.

Competitive unis take longer to reply generally. It could take months but it doesn’t mean there’s anything to worry about if it takes a long time.

DD submitted her application just before the Christmas break and has now received two offers - it took 2 weeks for those to come through. Relieved. She's booked to attend an applicants open day next month.

Submitting this weekend (deadline is 25th) hoping to do a cert HE in antenatal education. Basically training to be an antenatal teacher

Has anyone received a Bioscience offer from Durham? DD applied back I Oct but still no decision...getting very nervous as its her preferred place.

Unfortunately, Durham could take a couple of months yet @LouCoop1978.

My son is finding that all his friends with the full house of A* predictions are getting their offers quickly whilst those whose predictions are those of the typical offer or just one grade more are still waiting.

DS is predicted A* A A and finding the waiting tough - as am I.

Loads of people on Wiwikau are still waiting, pretty much every post for the last couple of days has been people asking for updates on offers.

Still waiting for Bristol and Imperial here (DS loved the open day and course for Imperial - I'm worried about living costs there ) . Didn't try for St. Andrews, Scottish so certain universities we've been told to avoid 😠😥
