DS is interested in this course (to apply next year). He has straights 9s at GCSE and is studying maths, economics, philosophy and French for A level.

I know it's incredibly competitive and wondered whether anyone had any wisdom to share? What sort of thing should he be including on his statement? Are there any activities he can be doing now to improve his chances? He should hopefully do well on the TSA as that's right up his street but knows that he should practise ahead.

Thank you for any advice.

DD is in her 3rd year of PPE. They share the first year econ modules with E&M. She didn't study PP or E at A level and had far from perfect GCSEs

Is he at a state or private school? If it's state look into UNIQ summer schools.

The suggested reading from UNIQ was the OUP A Very Short Introduction to...series of books, along with best sellers such as Freakonomics.
