Does anyone know if Bath or York offer before Jan deadline please?

I’m wondering if Bath and/York wait until all applications are in and then start offering or if they start offering immediately.

@Allicando were the predicted grades higher than their standard offer or was she an early applicant please?

Yes she was an early applicant and yes her predicted grades were A star A star A, the required grades for her course were A star A, B (she was able to get a contextual through access to Bath but fortunately got her predicated grades anyway). The offer email congratulated her on the strength of her application which I took to mean she had a strong personal statement seeing as many other candidates would have similar / higher predicted grades than her.

Check the full entry requirements for the courses at York to see if it says:

If you achieve an A or higher at EPQ, you will be eligible for a reduced offer, one grade below our typical offer.

From what I recall my DC's offer did not explicitly mention this and just stated the grades needed. They did drop a grade on one subject but got A for their EPQ, and a place at York.

I'm sure someone posted they had an offer from Bath this week on Wiwikau.

Thank you for all these. It does seem that the ones getting offers quickly are those with higher grade predictions than standard and/or oxbridge. Massively helpful thank you.

Is anyone's DC not predicted at least 3 A*s?

hockeygrass · 05/11/2022 12:43

Yes my dd predicted AAAstar and offered AAA - published offer grades.

Mine!! That’s why I’m asking 🤣

Not necessarily (I am talking about last year) - DC was predicted AAB + A for EPQ, and had 5 offers (all Russell Group including 2 from York, one of which was an integrated masters) by the end of November.

Is there a reason why you are asking?

gerfrentig · 05/11/2022 19:00

DD was predicted AAB and was offered AAA or A*AB for York. She didn't do an EPQ. She's at York now.

gerfrentig · 05/11/2022 19:03

I also think her first offer was from York - early November iirc.

Dd submit UCAS form at the end of Friday and York offered today so discounting the weekend it was pretty much 24 hours after submitting. She’s very happy as it’s probably her 2nd fave.

Dd isn’t she’s predicted A star, A star, B plus a distinction in Tech Theatre BTEC (I think that may be half an A level I’m not sure).

Is you question directed at me or @WarblingEttie? I just want to know if York and Bath are quick in general or if they have a reputation like Durham’s. It seems from replies that York is quick for high predictions and Bath may be waiting until after Jan 25th deadline regardless of predictions.
@KittyMcKitty they're high grades!
