Does Lancaster uni really start the term after Christmas on a Friday? I have misread this, haven't I? https://portal.lancaster.ac.uk/ask/study/term-dates-calendar/

I don't have any direct experience of Lancaster uni but when my ds was at another uni they started the semester in January with a fortnight of exams. Teaching didn't start till the end of the month.

My DS is at Lancaster. His lectures have always started the Monday following the Friday when term officially starts if that makes sense.

So, Michaelmas Term officially began on 7th Oct but he didn't have any lectures until Mon10th Oct.

But Lancaster doesn't have semesters. It has three terms.

Yes, it’s to get them back to start the Monday . To make sure they are there.
Lancaster does not have half terms, just 3 long terms.

They always put start of term on a Friday, but the teaching does not start until the monday. There could be one or two courses where it starts on a friday someone said once, but everyone elses teaching does not start till following Monday.
