Hello,
My ds is going to university open days. Not sure about attending Nottingham this coming weekend. Someone told him it was a rough town.
However, from what I understand a good university and information he has got from an unhelpful friend may well be out of date!
He is not a party boy [yet!] but I would imagine all universities have a mix of students and he would find fellow nerdy types!
Any views on Nottingham are welcome.
Thank you.

We are just back from the open day as well. Thought the subject talk was the best one we had seen. Lovely spacious and green campus. The surrounding area (road in from J25) seemed very nice. But my ds didn't warm to Jubilee campus it seemed very quiet with not many facilities there. If he did choose it he would probably choose the Uni Park catered halls, it's not far to walk to Jubilee.

There’s a free bus between the two campuses @Tree543 and I think it also goes to some of the accommodation on the Jubilee side. Dd is in catered accommodation on campus and says she likes it because it feels like she’s in the middle of the action! She’s also right next to the sports centre.

We’re just back from Nottingham Open Day too. Dd loved it, great for her course and we were really impressed with all the green space on campus and the great facilities. The sports centre was stunning, very modern and well equipped. Agree that the lack of much self catering accommodation is a big draw back though.
