Anyone dropping off in London this weekend (queens funeral)

I am dropping my daughter in E London on Saturday, driving up from Devon Friday staying over night then the last 'hour' or two across London saturday but now anticipating potential traffic chaos with the sheer volume of people descending in London.
Any tips welcome 😬😬

Yes it will be busy, and there will be large numbers of road closure, but they will mainly affect central London - but the displaced traffic will mean lots of points of congestion.

So my top tip would be to go round London on M25 (rather than coming in to the north or south circulars)

And console yourself with the thought that much of London will still be flowing - I don't fancy going anywhere Sunday or Monday!

@SquirmOfEels thank you, I am going from Heathrow to Hackney, would you suggest M25 North or South?

Just check Waze or Google maps on the day. And keep checking while in the journey - best route will prob change.

In usual circumstances north circular would be best, and then northern m25 if NCR jammed.

Impossible to know ahead of time, too many variables (it's usually broken down busses and the like that cause localised jams.) you can't plan ahead.
Also tune into BBC london for traffic updates.

It will take about two hours to Hackney from HRW, it would only be significantly less in early hours of the morning.

Agree with @SquirmOfEels also going in a similar direction for Sunday drop off and will be taking extra time but also going outskirts till I need to go in ..

We're doing East London on Friday. I haven't driven in London for about 20 years, despite growing up there so that will be fun!

We are planning on the M25 anti-clockwise and in that way. We also have a contingency in case it's appalling 😆

Traffic has not been bad as long as you stay away from Westminster/Victoria/Royal Parks and Central London Bridges.

Public transport has been fine.
