What’s the next step with Uni application?

Probably a stupid question and I know dc should know/handle it themselves but just now I can’t get any answer from him because ‘he doesn’t know’.

So A level results are in and he got the result he needed.
Then what is next? Is the Uni notified straight away, all through UCAS? Are there any specific steps to take?

I have the sneaking feeling dc won’t follow his emails carefully and will miss THE email he needed to answer.

DD is the same ! We have gone through everything, and if they have had the confirmation email and checked the UCAS tracker and it says place confirmed, then they just need to wait for the University to be in touch - DD will now not hear anything from the University till early September according to the University website, and the " Welcome" email she got from them.

He needs to check the ucas tracker. Normally emails are sent confirming the place by uni and then inundated with information about accommodation, course options, induction, Freshers Week etc over the next week or two

Check Spam for any emails too,

Thank you.

Accommodation is sorted so that’s one thing less to worry about.
I’ll check with him if he has received the email + check the UCAS tracker.

Do you know all the students loans come automatically once the place has been confirmed? Or does it need special attention (answering back to them, confirming you will want the loan etc…)

Afaik the student loan doesn’t land in their bank account until a couple of days after they have enrolled on their course. So he needs to keep an eye out for emails from uni about enrolling, might be online or in person on freshers week.

Dd has got her place confirmed on UCAS (Warwick) but hasn't received an email confirming it so should get that soon

Does anyone know if the schools only find out what Uni students get into from the students telling them, or do they get notified by UCAS or something? Just wondered

LIZS · 18/08/2022 21:08

If the ucas application was set up through the school/college they know which uni accepts on the day but obviously this may change subsequently.

MulberryMoon · 18/08/2022 21:10

Thank you. She did set it up at school

I’d just check that they’ve put their Lon application in.
