Would appreciate some advice please on your or your DC's experience of the PPE courses at Manchester, Lancaster, Southampton, Nottingham and Warwick.

My Yr 12 DD is interested in studying this but for varying reasons does not want to go to Oxford (or Cambridge) or any university in London, so those are out.

Cheers.

Lancaster isn't really PPE in the same way in that it isn't integrated. It's more that you can continue with all three part 1 subjects.

Presumably your DD is doing maths A level since without this her choice of PPE degrees will be very limited.

Thanks User, that’s helpful to know about Lancaster, it’s one we’re checking out primarily for a non-course related reason.

Ds also did not want Oxbridge or London. He applied for Economics & Politics rather than PPE but obviously it’s quite similar. And I think all the unis he applied to offer PPE. He applied to Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield & Southampton. He wanted a city rather than campus so also ruled out Warwick & Bath…

Thanks @Decorhate

After attending a philosophy lecture at a university, DD has decided she definitely doesn’t want to study philosophy so doesn’t want to do PPE.

She’s now looking at politics and mixed social sciences courses. She liked Southampton and we’re going to visit Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds, as well as a couple of others.
