Has anyone gone from being an A1 NVQ 3 assessor to a Level 4 or being an IV? Lots of questions!!!

Was it a big leap?
Did it take much time to finish?
Compared to your A1 qualification was it more difficult?
Can you earn a lot more?
Did you do it from home or at college?
Thanks!

Hi. You should spend a year assessing following achieving the A1 award before you start the V1 award. There is certainly no reason why you can't do it then. There is a lot more in the V1 award, as you really need to be the "quality person" at your Centre to be able to collect the evidence for it. You will need 2 assessors to support and you will need to be observed by your EV (or sometimes a second, vocationally competent IV at the centre) and to liaise with them for EV visits. Your centre will usually put you through the award which can be done at any V1 accredited centre. It really depends on your situation just how long it will take you to achieve it - you may already be in a position to start gathering the evidence. I have known candidates take 3 months and others 18 months. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions I will be happy to answer them (I am an EV for the A1/V1 awards and train and assess the EVs for the V2 award).
