Can dd change to living on campus after initially choosing ‘live at home’?

DD got an offer for her top choice uni today - she loves it so much that she’s opting to do the 4 year course with foundation year (nursing) there rather than one of the 3 year degrees at a other unis she has offers from.

Only thing is, because she wouldn’t get the £5k NHS grant until year 1 (rather than year 0), she put down ‘live at home’ on her UCAS application. It would be around an hour journey each way, and she thought she could then move onto campus in year 1.

However her grandparents have today offered to top up her minimum maintenance loan so that she could pay for accommodation on site, which would be her ideal, as she really wants to throw herself into university life asap. Does anyone know if she can change her mind? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can. My DD changed hers the other way round for year two.

Yes she definitely can. Worth contacting the Uni so they know to send her information about accommodation.

And also she needs to go on to her student finance account and adjust it in there too.

Thank you all for the advice. Have emailed the uni to make the request. She’s a young carer and has concluded (rightly) it’s time to have some proper freedom!
