Would you get offers now if applying for a 2023 start?

DS has just submitted his UCAS form, but as he's taking a gap year he has applied for 2023 start. Does that mean he would get offers at the same time as all those applying for next year? He is having an anxious wait for his first offer and I'm wondering if those who are applying for one year on may be dealt with on a different timescale.

Yes he would get offers now bit more than likely it would be considered at the same time as rather department looks at all their applications. It will depend whether the particular unis he is applying to is making them as they go along or whether they are waiting for the January deadline.

Two offers have come in - hurrah! So it looks as though the delayed start date is not affecting the timing. Fingers still crossed that he gets an offer from his first choice though.
