Student finance - wrong household info submitted, what now?

Long story short, it has just come to light that I have been underpaid significantly since submitting DS (going into 2nd year) and DD's (starting next month) student maintenance loan income evidence so should have declared more than I did. How will this affect things and how do I submit revised info? Will DS have to repay what's presumably been overpaid for last year? I've tried online and phoning (on hold 30 mins so far)...any experts out there please?

When you say underpaid - how are they correcting it?
Are the reworking prior years or putting it through now and so your current year income will be significantly higher?

How are your employers correcting it I mean

I can answer the repayment part. This happened to us, my DH got overtime we weren’t expecting and so the loan was more than it should have been. They wrote to us and told us the overpayment which we chose to pay straight away. Otherwise they would have docked it from the 2nd year assessment.

I find the best way to contact them is through facebook messenger! If you look for Student Finance England on Facebook that is the correct page.

I've rung twice and got through within 15 minutes, so might be worth trying again. They were very helpful when I did get through, or at least reassuring as they couldn't do much (but not their fault). As a PP asked, the key point is how the overpayment is being corrected and if you are doing an in year assessment.
