Advice for mature applicants applying to uni?

Hi, I hope this is ok to post here, but I worked in university admissions for five years until recently returning to university myself. One thing that always struck me was how mature students applying to university had such rich life skills and experiences, but unfortunately didn't always have the benefit of a school or college to advise them on the admissions process and how to boost their chances of getting onto their chosen course.

I'd really like to use my previous experience working in university admissions along with my own recent successful application to uni to help others realise their dreams but I'm not sure if this kind of service would appeal to mature applicants? To test if this kind of thing would be useful I'd really like to help some people (for free) with advice on their current qualifications and university aspirations.

If anyone would be interested please let me know, I miss helping people realise their dreams!

That’s nice of you Vorbis. I think your thread title might not be quite right. It looks like you are asking for some advice, rather than offering to give some.

You're right! I'm not sure if I can edit the title? If not I will make a new post :) Thanks!

You can report your own post to MN and they can edit it or just start a new one. There aren’t that many mature students on here, mostly over invested parents like me! Grin
