Can you claim job seekers allowance between doing an undergrad degree and a masters?

Just that really. DD is trying to get a job but has had no luck so far. I can afford to feed her over the summer but she'll need some money. Has anyone been in this situation? She has had a job on campus throughout her degree but this will be stopping very soon as the place will be closing for the summer. Also she'll be living with me obviously.

Yes

If she did a three year degree and is then starting a separate masters, then yes because won't be classed as a student during the gap. If it's an integrated masters then no.

It will probably be universal credit

Thanks everyone. I'll tell her to look into it. It's a separate masters at a different university to her degree (3 year).

It will be universal credit and there is a 5 week wait for payment after claim. You can get an advance to keep you going til the first payment but it needs to be paid back and is taken out of any future payments

Thank you @cocoloco987.
