Has anyone got any experience of DMU as my DD is thinking of accepting her unconditional offer there. The good, the bad, the ugly?!

Also, on the off chance anyone's DD/DS is doing/done BA Graphic Design Illustration, I'd be grateful to hear their experiences of this course. Thanks

Great city centre campus with good facilities. Plenty of accommodation. Leicester is a friendly vibrant reasonably priced city. DMU has excellent graduate employability.

Thanks @NumberThirtySix that's encouraging!

So difficult to decide not having visited the city or Uni!

We visited when my daughter was looking to do graphic design there. I really liked it. Met a tutor who really made the effort and there was a lot of great work on view. I really liked the compact city centre campus, which seemed to have great facilities and accommodation, and would have loved her to have chosen it. She ended up at Bournemouth Arts (she's always been a beach babe at heart), which she's enjoying and gaining a lot from. But part of me still wishes she'd gone somewhere like DMU with more of a mix of subjects than there is at an arts uni.

My son is hoping to go there too but for something unrelated. Never been to Leicester but he is willing to go with it because the course suits him so much.

Thanks @menotastic @EvilEdna1
DMU's marketing and online open days are certainly very impressive but we don't want to get swept along with that too much! We are also looking at Falmouth and Bath Spa, neither of which we've been to either! I guess it's a case of choosing the best course, wherever that happens to be, and keep fingers crossed that the town/city suits her needs.

I went to DMU 2013-2016. I studied nursing though. However, I have to say it's a great city very multicultural, everything is within walking distance. The facilities are excellent, I quite liked the library, spent many hours there. Lots of societies that can be joined and experience new things. They were developing the campus when I graduated, I believe it's all complete now and I must say it looks impressive.

There's a good support network at the DSU if individuals need help/support.

The bad... what can I say? There's always a risk now in society no matter where you go. But it's a relatively safe city.

I did a BA in graphics and typography (not there). I loved it. Absolutely bonkers (it was art school) but a lot of fun.

Went to DMU 2002-2005 had a great time, made friends for life, it Amy have changed a lot since I was there but my only criticism would be the lack of support available to students about to graduate and enter Job market. There didn't seem to be any advice or help to steer in right direction for job hunting etc

I went to DMU 2007-2011. I absolutely loved it and would 100% recommend it
