When can English students return to Wales?

Can anyone help with this in light of today's announcement on new lockdown in Wales? DD in third year, living in a private house so would she need to return on 27th or can students travel back when they want?

I'm in Wales with 3 students in England. All are now home.
I'm pretty sure travel for work or education is allowed returning to uni or for a job should be fine.
All 3 of my students (at 3 different unis) are being asked to book in for covid tests upon return. Booking opens this week. I believe its the same fast results as they had before returning home. Its so they can self.isolate if needed upon arrival back at uni.

I think that students that returned home are now part of their parental/home bubble. Student are supposed to return in a staggered fashion towards the end of January , ie for the start of 2nd semester. My DS has on-line exams in January so intends to return to his shared student house in Wales after those. Moving back to student house would be allowed as it was during the Welsh local lockdowns at the end of September.

I think I'd prefer to take a test at home and self-isolate at home before returning to uni, but I suppose peoples' home lives are different and some students will want to escape their parents as soon as they can.

The Government has not thought out the issues of students who have private rentals for which they have paid. If they are not going to pay students' rent for a month - a huge expense for students who don't get full loans - then they cannot expect students not to return in early Jan.
The sooner we abolish all mandatory covid 19 legislation the better. It is a massive breach of human rights.

Same as mine and she needs to coordinate her return with her housemate's

There's been no rebate offered for those in university-owned accommodation either, apart from Manchester who have reduced rent for last term by a third, I think.

DD has a face to face lecture on 11th in Cardiff. She is in private accommodation

Surely, especially re students in private rented accommodation, wherever the university is, it can only say that students are not to be present within the teaching areas (some universities are not in any shape or form 'campus') before a certain date and we be expected not to do so without negative tests within a certain period? It's up to the local authority to deal with the issue of people who have an address within their area being at that address, if it decides that it doesn't want them to be there? What about those living locally in the parental home, or older students living in their own permanent home in the area? Universities can hardly insist that they clear off and stay somewhere not in the vicinity until February...

Marching, depends on the university rules/contract with the students. Eg I think for decades Oxbridge have not let people leave during the 8 week terms unless for good and proven reason, just as they can force you out in the holidays and routinely let your rooms to conferences

Does anybody know if they have updated guidance in light of the English lockdown?
