@SchrodingersKitty

Sorry I crossposted.

I'm so sorry to hear your news. Sounds like your ds is being so mature and supportive, you must be proud of how he's handling himself.
If there's any way we can help then please do say, I know that sounds like words on a screen, but I do mean it. xx

@SchrodingersKitty so sorry as others have said. Flowers

simbobs · 19/08/2020 17:56

@Schrodingerskitty, only just read your very sad update. What awful news. As others have said, it puts into perspective the fleeting woes of ours. You are so lucky to have your son for mutual support. Please take care of yourself and seek any support that you need.

Does anyone know for certain when the Maintenance Loan will be paid for the new term? The SFE website is inundated at the moment and there is a queue booking system to get onto it. DS has informed me that he will have to pay 2 rent installments before he gets his money, which he insists is around 10th October., but I have seen no evidence of this, and the money was certainly paid earlier last year.

Piggywaspushed · 20/08/2020 16:21

It is late this year but must depend on the info each uni gave about start dates?

Piggywaspushed · 20/08/2020 16:23

Sorry about your news kitty . Hope all is as well as it can be.

Zandathepanda · 20/08/2020 16:32

SchrodingersKitty so sorry to read your news. I hope you can all process and get through it as well as possible. x

Ragwort · 20/08/2020 16:37

Very sorry to read your news Schrodingerskitty, what a difficult time for you all.

Witchend · 20/08/2020 18:34

@simbobs
Asked dd and she says it depends on the uni. She thinks she (Durham) is around 5th October, and thinks it tends to be around 1st week of term. She thinks they only pay on weekdays so unlikely to be actually the 10th as that's a Saturday.

Dunlurking · 20/08/2020 20:01

@SchrodingersKitty I’m so so so sorry to read about your dh. Thinking of you all Flowers

simbobs · 20/08/2020 20:34

Thanks @witchend. DS starts a bit sooner, but insists that money won't come before 2nd week October. Last year he had his on 1st Monday of Freshers. The trouble is that he doesn't seem to be consulting primary sources, just hearsay from friends which may or may not be true, and now the finance website is tricky to access.
