He's at uni, obviously has skills learnt there, he wants to improve his skills in lockdown

Can anyone recommend any sites to use?

Well, that is a bit to general as journalist can cover anything from finance to what was the best puppy in a church fair. What kind of journalism is she interested to do? (If she doesn’t know, perhaps is better to spend more of this time setting goals and planning her professional future, rather than learning skills she might not use).

Write up a report.

Compare with actual reports written at the time.
What s the difference?
Why are his better/worse?
What do sports pages cover?
Try LinkedIn learning
And anything free offered thru his uni
