Hello - love the new title - who’d have thought you’d be writing that!?!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/03/2020 20:06

@ZandathePanda it's really surreal, isn't it?

Ragwort and Alicatz

Nottingham parents - looks like accomodation fees are being waived.

bigTillyMint · 25/03/2020 21:21

Great!

Durham said not to worry about stuff left as it will be kept safe. Clearly people who are SI and following Boris’s rules can’t be penalised for not being able to collect stuff atm.

justasking111 · 25/03/2020 21:23

DS got a message four extra weeks to complete his assignments. I found it on FB, he had not checked his e mails, yet again!!!

minesawine · 25/03/2020 21:38

Hello everyone.

Why has my independent son reverted to a sullen 14 year old. Lazy, smelly, untidy and moody. Everything he had learned since September has just disappeared. Bloody hell, my two are hard work during this lockdown. The house is suddenly very small.

Rags I am still waiting to hear from NTU re accommodation. We cleared about 80% of his room, so will have to go back. He was just starting to love uni life so we both gutted. I have asked NTU whata happening about 3rd term accommodation and fees but I haven't heard anything.

bigTillyMint · 25/03/2020 21:41

@minesawine, I hear you!
DS has been ill, but has done nothing AFAIK. DD is studying but has reverted to petulant 14yo Hmm

Jano69 · 25/03/2020 21:57

Thanks for setting up a new thread NewModel. I really hope Durham follows suit with accommodation charges. Durham hasn't been value for money so far. Really feel for those poor students left behind on campus - must be awful for them and a very anxious time.

Benjispruce · 25/03/2020 22:07

I’m with you on the house feeling small. Thank god for the garden and nice weather. The dog’s happy as both DDs taking her on walkies as their daily outing. Not much work going on but lots of Tiktok dances and playing the piano. I’m not pushing it as they have so much time to work.

Benjispruce · 25/03/2020 22:08

2 of DD’s friends at uni have fevers....

Decorhate · 25/03/2020 22:09

Ds has had an email this evening with a form to send back to let them know if he plans to return to his accommodation. I don’t think they have specified a deadline by when they need to vacate. But they did say if they could not return their belongings would be stored.

Ds has just revealed that he left some valuables in his room Hmm

Witchend · 26/03/2020 07:20

Thank you!

AWanderingMinstrel · 26/03/2020 07:33

Checking in. Thanks new model.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 26/03/2020 07:57

@Decorhate that sounds like the type of thing DS would do. I did ask him if he'd brought his passport home - he said yes.

Private providers in Liverpool waiving next terms accommodation fees if all moved out 😀

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 26/03/2020 08:14

That good news for those who can move out @sergeantmajormum!

We got her last week but were resigned to having to pay, so welcome news. It was pretty empty a week ago.

Benjispruce · 26/03/2020 09:15

Durham has followed suit- no accommodation charge for 3rd term. This has actually upset DD as I think she was clinging to some hope of return. Relieved though obviously about the charge.
