Opinions/experiences of Liverpool University and city?

May seem trivial in light of what is going on in the world but thought some people might be able to use a distraction!

DD is holding a Liverpool offer for Psychology which she is planning to use as insurance (ABB). First choice will almost certainly be Sheffield (AAB). She looked round Liverpool last summer and really liked it but didn't get a chance to attend offer holder days before they were cancelled due to Covid-19. She is (reasonably) confident that Liverpool will be an appropriate insurance and is on track to be given the grades for Sheffield anyway - so is unlikely to take up the insurance offer - but was wondering if anyone had any experiences of the uni or city to put her mind at rest before entering her choices into UCAS?

Any general info or thoughts welcomed! Thanks in advance :)

Thank you Bezallele and Teta, nice to have your view too. I agree we might not fit in as I don't think making rude comments about other people's experiences is the sort of family we are.
I have asked MN to delete my comments a's won't be using their site again

DH went to Liverpool Uni. Loved his course and loved the city. Have to say we enjoyed visiting him there too; wonderful, vibrant endlessly interesting place.

He now works with many people with Oxbridge and top tier degrees and says his degree from Liverpool earns him a decent level of respect (some of his other colleagues get a bit of stick for theirs).

I went there years ago. Absolutely fantastic city and people. Cheap with incredible culture. And really beautiful. We lived in a mansion for peanuts.

And it sounds like Liverpool University is upholding it's tradition of not pandering to parents and expecting students to visit and make their own minds up. Good for them.

God PBLR chill out.

Liverpool is a wonderful city and I say that as a proud Manchester resident
I went for the first time 2 years ago and often go for a weekend a month. Great bars and restaurants, one of the friendliest places around and lots of places selling a cheap pint. Grin
