I'm thinking about doing one but not sure where it will come in useful afterwards.

hello sparkler

I have done two. The first was in makaton and wasn't a real course as such as I was taught by one of the nurses in a residential unit.

The other was sign-a-long which i was taught by a SALT when i had my old mindee with dyspraxia.

I don't really use either now but I don't regret doing them

Sorry that was BSL btw.Quite a few signers on here , califrau springs to mind

I've done the intro course and level 1. TBH if you don't know anyone who is deaf or come into contact with them at work you probably won't use it much. BUT the course was great fun and a good (hard) work out for my brain - and if you go on to complete level 2 then you can apply for jobs where you are supporting in education - or even level 3 when you can go on to train as an interpreter.

I'd love to move back!
