Hi
Anyone offer advice please!?..Our 18yr old is away at Uni..5th week and says they hate it! hate place and doeant get on with flatmates. We've suggested they speak to student support and tutor tomorrow, as it is still very early days. They refuse to listen or try to join groups. We're so frustrated..as they are not willing to keep an open mind or try anything!. Any advice most appreciated.

@RomaineCalm
Our DC is coming home this weekend and we plan on discussing future as to what/where/when. They've made appointment with student support along with speaking to tutor to gain information and clear things in their own heads!...

I noticed a new thread on here about frie ones in first 4weeks etc....I do feel students have this picture of all fun and friends ..reality is different when they are having to stand on their own feet etc. Thank you for assistance x

That's good news @Monica53. Fingers crossed that you get sorted and find the right outcome for DC.

I quit Uni after 6 weeks, 30 years ago Monica. I hated everything from the city go the course and my flatmates.
Felt like the end of the world at the time.
I took a year off and restarted at a new Uni on a different course the following year and instantly loved it.
Unis say that you have to pay back the money but in reality I dont know any of DCs friends who have quit and been charged accom costs.
I hope your DC feels happier soon.Flowers
