daughter miserable in accommodation - roof leaking all over her bed

first move out of halls into shared house for 3rd year, doesn't know the others as the room are rented individually.
dropped her off yesterday, the flat is still a building site although the letting agents promised it would be ready ,and when she got in tonight her bed was soaking as the roof has leaked all over it.
she's on a train home after phoning me in tears.
Term hasn't started so none of her friends around to offer her a bed.

thanks Xenia, if I remember correctly you have twins in third year too? her twin is having a lovely time in his year abroad with a fab house which is great but almost rubs salt in the wound...

Yes, that's right - one is living a bit more centrally than the other this year and they do not see that much of each other as they have different friends but sometimes it's useful to have a twin near by. They tend to travel home together etc. I am glad you other one is having a lovely year abroad.
