Good university for dyslexia support?

Hi
My son is looking at Ancient/Medieval/History

He is dyslexic so it’s important to find somewhere truly supportive, not just lip service! I see some universities have a personal tutor which would be great as he is not brilliantly organised and so that extra support would be invaluable. I’m also slightly concerned about contact time.

So far he’s looking at a Liverpool, Leicester, Reading, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester Met. No predictions yet but am thinking maybe ABC with the A in History although we find out in a couple of weeks.

Any experience of the dyslexia support?

Thanks Smile

the university of chilchester has good dyslexia support and offers a degree in medieval and early modern history x

I can't speak for dyslexia specifically but Leicester has good additional needs support far better than anything in school.

My dd is going to Liverpool. The course might suit because it's not all done on exams, some modules are presentations for example

Has he been diagnosed as dyslexic by a ed psychologist?

I found York fantastic for support although I think it only does history or archaeology.

@RedHelenB yes he was diagnosed age 10. Liverpool is his favourite but not sure he’ll get the grades.

@pumkinspicetime thanks. York is AAA for History which is out of his league unfortunately!

@stucknoue thanks yes Leicester does look good and it’s got a large History department.
