Juggling university, work and family- tips please

I last attended university 30 years ago. Does anyone have any organisational tips for juggling work, children and studying at university? I also volunteer for 2 organisations but sadly think I may have to stop this for now. I am really excited but also slightly terrified! All the other mature students seems to be 21/22, so hope I don't seem ancient (am late 40's)! Thank you.

I'm early 40s and going back this year - no idea quite how I'm going to juggle it all (I'm also a school governor which I really don't want to give up) but I'm sure it'll all slot into place given time.
