Deferring Uni Offer can't get through on phones

After yesterday's results DS wants to defer for a year.

We need to do this with the University direct but all landlines are saying unless this call is to do with clearing call back next week !

How long does DS have to get his request in. I am sure it was 5 days.

Why not email instead? My daughter did this 2 months ago and had an email confirmation within 48 hours.

OP, definitely email, my dd deferred last year and emailed and received a reply the following day.

I'd hang on, whoever is on the clearing line might be able to help/give you advice.

Just a tip, is there anything on the uni website about deferring? If not, maybe ask on here is that uni defers. DD particularly checked with Edinburgh before she applied as she was considering a gap year, and they said no.

We checked last week as it was a possibility and they said yes.

DS has sent email so we wait and he'll have to chase it up on Monday.
