Any mums going back to Uni this year?

Any mummys going back to uni after the summer break? Are you nervous, excited? Or just cant wait to get a minute away from the kids?

I can't wait to go back, kids are driving me nuts haha! Its my final year and im nervous!!!

I am starting a degree in September. Worried about being old.

I am going in to year 2 in Sept, and looking forward to it.

@quiteathome don't worry about being old.... I was the same this time last year, and I am very old, mid 40s!

It has been fine, once people knew my age, and got over their initial shock that I was the same age as their parents, things have been fine. There are quite a few mature students on my course though, so I am not the oldest.

Are you doing a full time degree?

Hi, yes doing a full time degree. Allied health profession. So hopefully that means there might be more mature students on the course.

I am going to need to be super organised.

Me too, I'm doing radiography, how about you?

I have friends doing nursing, midwifery, paramedic science etc from our access course, all have successfully completed the first year, and all mature students. Placements were a shock to the system for me, but by the end of the year I loved it.

I am starting a social work degree in September. I'm hoping there will be more mature students so I wont be alone. I did all my enrollment stuff today and am so excited! Good luck to everyone else.

Starting Speech and Language Therapy end of September - the terror's set in - not of the course content (I'm worryingly confident I can hold my own academically) but the age gap!

I’m not going to uni but I am going to college to do an hnc. I’m petrified though looking forward to a new challenge, I’ve been working 26 hrs for the last 17years since I had my children and now it’s time for me to do something for me.

Just not sure how I’m going to manage part time work, college 3 days a week, placement 2 days a week, the teenagers activities, the house and also squeezing my husband in there too! Life is going to be hectic for the next year.

I'm going back for 3rd year. Already nervous but that's because I know a dissertation awaits me!!

I’m nervous as I get quite anxious in new situations, I’m 43 and the last essay I wrote I was 20! The closer my start date gets the more nervous I’m becoming. I’m sure once I’m there and have gotten the first week over with then I’ll be fine.

I have just completed my last year at uni as a mature student and graduated and it was the best thing that I ever did! I was nervous at the beginning but it really has changed me and my life for the better. I feel like a completely different person. I am now going to be working part time and doing my masters and studying for my further professional qualification at the same time. Enjoy every minute of it

I have just graduated PGCE in further education at 26 with two nursery aged children.
Was def hard work but extremely rewarding. Also a great way to rediscover yourself - whilst continuing to be a mum!
my 4 year old was incredibly proud and declared to everyone that we met on a recent holiday "do you know my mummy went to uni and is a teacher now".
Ultimately reminding me it was 100% worth it.

Congratulations Bonnie. And lovely that your 4 year old is so proud of you.

I have completed my enrollment now. It feels very real. I think rediscovering myself often years or so of being a parent is very exciting.

I would like a timetable do I can plan childcare.

Oh Bonnie , your little one is super cute!

I’ve got a meeting tomorrow at college to fill in form so for my pvg check.

It’s quite exciting and hopefully I won’t be the oldest there!

Not s mum but going back to uni to do a law degree next month. Am aldi nervous as last did essays during my first degree 25 odd years ago!
But I am loving the pre reading and will enjoy a change from working life.

Hi, I'm starting university in September (child nursing) I'm excited and so nervous. I have 2 children and am a bit worried about making time for them and studying too.

Hey guys, sorry for the long reply, I thought I'd take some time out.

I was full-time, I have finally completed my third year this year, just waiting on my results.
