My dd really likes the look of a particular course here and we've an Open Day booked (not until Sept, unfortunately).

if anyone has any insights or experiences about Lancaster I would love to hear them please Smile. She's pursuing humanities and MFL.

DD going to open day next weekend, looking to study economics and maths. I think it's pretty highly regarded for many subjects and seems to offer very generous scholarships (not sure if that's a bit of a red flag?)

I studied at Lancaster and I loved my time there! I lived on campus for 2 years and off campus for 1 year. Some accommodation is really nice and some is very basic.

I loved the college system that they have as you feel part of your own community within the university, it's almost like lots of little villages!

It's a lovely town and I always found everyone really friendly, had no troubles in my 3 years there! Loved my course (sociology) most of my lecturers and tutors were good, one in particular was fab and chose all of his topics for 2nd and 3rd year as anything he taught he made fascinating!

It comes very high up in the Complete University Guide for MFL. Not sure which humanity so didn’t check. If she likes the campus and the small city location, why not?

It's very highly regarded.

It's not as popular as it should be because of location, it's a bit out the way for a typical student lifestyle in a city.

But reputation wise it's up there- quick check shows it's 7th in the league tables so top 10 in the country.
