Joining a society

Just read such a sad tale elsewhere. A mums DS is in halls with international students who don`t seem keen to mix, he missed joining any societies which he regrets because he sees on social media others enjoying parties, planning holidays.

Can I just say my oldest two joined societies tied up with their interests, one also after a month or two changed halls because his was so awful. So do try to make sure they look at the societies and pick a few, and if their halls are bad do as my DS did and chase up alternative accommodation it does come up.

I wish they would! I was encouraging my ds to join something when he started but he couldn't be bothered and just said 'there's nothing I'm interested in', which was rubbish as there was a club for just about everything! Hope dd does get involved in something.
