Just wondering who else has a DC still watiing to hear from unis. DD applied 31 October, had offers from Edinburgh November, St Andrews and Birmingham December. Still waiting on Durham and Warwick.

Luckily she's not worried, as she's more than happy with her present offers. It would just be good to know to enable her to make a final decision and then decide on accommodation.

what an interesting sounding degree! and fantastic news she has an offer from St Andrews...what grades does she need?
I've just looked on route finder and Durham is 380 miles and St Andrews 560 miles from us! I hope he doesn't get an offer it's too far!!! :D
DS2 is has gone for Theoretical physics and his offer from Durham is AAAA .. so much work!

it's the A that are worrying aren't they... I'm not sure ds is going to do it. He's taking Physics, Maths, Further Maths and History and just got A,AA and B in his mocks which is pretty good going and he's got a couple of months of revising now. He doesn't do very well in exams though, gets very anxious. He puts so much pressure on himself.. I liked on the UCAS calculator last night for St A.. with his UCAS predicted grades of AAAA he's only got 48% of getting an offer!
Do you think your dd will go for Durham or St A? or put both and go for clearing if she doesn't make it?

I'm still waiting for Durham! I really need them to make their decision as they are my 2nd choice...

My DD is applying for Philosophy and Economics (flexible combined honours at Exeter so she can get the mix she wants). It is a popular combination and the Exeter course is hugely popular - she’d half thought of doing a dual honours with a language to increase the likelihood of being offered a place, but in the end decided to go for the course she really wants even if it’s harder to get on to. It is interesting that Bristol looked at her profile and turned her down for the course she applied for and offered her a place on an International Business Management degree. It’s not really what she wants though so although she loved Bristol I don’t think she’ll firm it.

DD got a response from Warwick yesterday evening, AAB. So somewhere in the country, an Oxbridge applicant finally decided on somewhere else as their insurance...

Ingles2 my daughter is in a similar position as your son. She’s waiting on St Andrews for physics having been rejected from Cambridge. She fortunately has offers from Durham Southampton and Nottingham, with Durham being her top choice. Having read on here and TSR I think she’s been incredibly lucky to get a Durham offer so soon. Good luck to your DS

ok, so rejected from St A... I think we're both relieved actually... ds, because it makes his life easier decision wise and I'm just happy he's not going to be 560 miles away!.. so firm is Durham, Birmingham insurance. Onwards and upwards to the offer residential..
Good luck everyone else :)

Ingles2 my DD got a SrA rejection today but she was upset as hoping it could be her insurance. Not sure which one of Southampton or Nottingham she will choose. She’s just going to have to work her socks off for Durham now.

Looks like St A's sent out a lot of "rejections" yesterday- one of DD's friends was also turned down for Physics...

Still waiting from Durham and St A here....it's interminable and I just want to know!

One of his friends was rejected yesterday for physics despite outstanding GCSE (all A) and predicted 4 A. Can't understand it and doesn't bode well for DS.

Some universities will pool their second choice candidates until they know how many of their first choice are firming. Some even lower grade requirements before offering to pooled students. LSE and UCL typically do this so if people haven't heard back yet, it doesn't mean they won't be offered - probably this month.
