Are Smallpeice Trust courses any good?

Just had an email with details of a course at a local uni in the subject ds is planning to apply for. It seems a bit pricy (is residential though we are near enough for ds to go home each day)

Has anyone's dc done one of these courses?

Very good indeed. Inspired my son to want to go to uni and do his course. Loved it so much is now at same uni and enjoying himself. Boosted personal statement too.

Very good, lots of hands on experience and learning.

We have always had to travel to take the children to them so the residential aspect was essential so it felt better value than it would to you being close but the overnight aspects are valuable too as part of the whole feel of it.

Hijacked thread alert!
Does anyone know of any smiliar institutions that run courses? Thank you!

Decorhate · 05/06/2018 20:25

Thanks both. I'll get ds to look at the course & see if he wants to do it. He already has a free taster day in a London uni for a slightly different (though related course)

Yes very good. Well run interesting. The residential part is great for helping kids understand a bit more about the university experience.

Many unis do taster days including oxford and Cambridge. Also headstart courses by entrust for STEM courses and small piece trust.
