Dd has conditional offer from preferred uni but isn't well. Will prob pull from a levels this year on mefical grounds and repeat yr 13. Taking a levels in 2019.
Can we ask the uni to keep her offer open and defer to 2019?
Does she write to the uni direct to ask?

Yeah they normally hold your place - some universities called it 'interrupting' just ring up and ask and they should.

Brokenbiscuit · 10/02/2018 23:17

No guarantees, but I'd have thought that most universities would be happy to defer the place under the circumstances. And yes, she should probably write and ask.

Tks
She will write and hopefully it will work out.

Dd did this last year with no problem. Had to complete UCAS again just to get through the system but repeat offers were guaranteed in writing and then made as soon as he put the form in. Also gave her the chance to put another option down that she discovered after the first time round. She needs to liase with admissions at her preferred uni s to talk thro what they want her to do.

User... so needs to withdraw from ucas then re apply? 're do personal statement etc... Is there a way to just carry it over as it were?
But will speak to the uni first anyway.

That’s what we were asked to do, but yes you need to check with Unis. I thought it was going to be a pain but actually it was fine and PS easy as the place was guaranteed.
