Oxbridge Admissions Assessments for 2019 Entry

Does anyone have confirmed dates for the Oxbridge assessments in Autumn 2018, specifically MLAT and Cambridge Linguistics assessment. Am hearing dates may have moved a week or so earlier than the previous year which could affect half term plans.

They'll have a job insisting state school staff turn up on the Wednesday of half term to invigilate :)

Yes, DD's school has just confirmed they're being held on Wednesday 31st October - that's half-term for an awful lot of schools. In fairness, certainly in the Greater London area, half-term holidays fall anywhere from mid October to first week of November, so I guess it's going to be tricky whatever.

Our school and all the state schools in our county have half-term from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th Oct inclusive and the tests are simply the first Wednesday after half-term, just the same as usual. The way the days fall this year gives a false impression that the aptitude tests are early, but they're not.

You don’t have to take the tests at your school - though some students may feel more relaxed doing them in familiar surroundings.
There are approved centres all over UK and overseas and if you are not sure of your plans you can enter at more than one centre and make a last minute decision.

Go to www.admissionstestingservice.org/ where you can find all the information on the various testing (including dates, when you can enter, past papers etc).

various tests. Sorry!

This is two years running my birthday has not been in half term - preposterous! My birthday is always - has always been in half term. (The fact that I left school over 30 years ago is irrelevant...)

You should definitely complain LiC. I would.
