I am an Asian and my kids do perform well( fitting in with the stereotype) academically but also do music, sports ( to a degree), volunteering, lazing around, going out with friends etc.,

She came home yesterday and told that she probably will not apply as she won't fit in Cambridge and would rather go somewhere else instead, which made me wonder that there are probably not many Asian students in these institutions.

There is another thread about Asian children in grammar schools and how they are over represented, if so why they don't go to these universities.

I am always up for debate and am often wrong..... I am not sure the Greeks look very white, do they? However I accept we have just about allowed them into the EU. Yes I know they have better records than men kept in other ancient places but China has material that could be studied. It is of course a massive narrow thing though isn't it - that was study what we have the material for. We miss loads out, about 1m years of our history and pick a tiny little bit of stuff because men then (and a very few women) wrote things down. I don't think they even do much on the ancient Egyptians either.
