How's everyone feeling? My dd was pretty much able to forget about results during July but said in a very quiet voice this morning, "I'll find out this month where I'm going."

Is anyone doing anything yet in preparation for 17th? Should we be doing anything yet in preparation for 17th?!

I dont think having ensuite is just the realm of private school kids though.

DS was in a 2yr old SC hall, all ensuite, this last year. We were told at offer day it would be well over-subscribed, fortunately we were able to submit medical reasons as a help (regular treatment at nearby hospital, didnt want him having to get on a bus to halls afterwards, esp in first year when he knew no one).

We know of 4 others at the uni (DC of friends/acquaintances), all got in that hall, 2 of them come from families that are definitely not well off, almost certainly on max loan. Others and us are comfortable, but not rich, none went to private school, all are comprehensive kids.

Can't believe it's almost been a week! This week has flown by.

DD went to private school and she is having a shared bathroom through choice.

Mind both got their first choice of hall (same university different halls - they are not so close as twins they wanted the same hall) but they are in the same area. One got his first choice - en suite I think. the second did not even get his own sink - just the room. As the second applied within the deadline but the day before and the first early on my view which I have not said to him is that it is because he was last minute despite the university saying it makes no difference whether you apply early or just before the deadline for accommodation applications. Anyway it;s neither here nor there. At the moment he goes into a bathroom shared with 2 other brothers and shares a room with his twin so he will be fine.

Apparently next stage for the one who has accepted is that we are sent an invoice.

I have just booked DS in with me for a flu jab at Boots before he heads off. I know he will pick up all sorts while he is there but hopefully this will reduce the severity.
