My brother is going for an interview tomorrow for an F.E. job as a teacher (or is it lecturer at that level?) PLEASE could anyone tell me if they've got any ideas what questions he might be asked? He hasn't got a clue. He's doing a presentation but it's what they will ask him he's not sure about. Thanks for the help.

Not sure if I can help, dances.. I work in Higher Ed. (fairly traditional subject, fairly traiditional university).

Is it 16-18 that your brother's interview is for, or is it post-18?

At our interviews the questions usually focus on research and teaching and will be quite specific to the subject taught, past experience, what you feel you can bring to this particular department and so on. No stupid 'What is your greatest achievement and what have you learned from it' kind of rubbish!

Not sure if that's any help. If not, well, I'll help keep this bumped for you. If you want to know more, I'll check this again later.

Ellbell - It's 16 -18 yrs! Thanks so much for the reply. I've told him what you said. He gave me his 'interview answer' for the 'what will you bring to the dept question' and it seemed good to me! If you have any more brain waves let me know thanks!

OK, so not really my field, sorry! Hope it goes well for him, though.
